Armanie, where are you from?
I grew up in South Florida. I also spent quite some time living in Canada. My parents are both Jamaican so my roots trace back to the West Indies. I finished High School in Florida and that felt like the birth of fashion for me. Being able to have different experiences living in different places and witnessing a daily mashup up of cultures and personal style.
Does Miami Play a part of the Astrum story?
The story began in Canada where I came up with the name. I give Miami credit for my growth and my extension of meeting the people that got me to where things are currently. I feel that it is an extension of the brand but as far as pulling inspiration and references, it's based on a general aspect of my upbringing and what's occurring in my personal life.
Where does the name Astrum come from?
Astrum was originally centered around the subject of Astronomy, which it is short for. At the time of starting the brand the main purpose was to form an overarching theme of the expression, dressing in outer space.
As of late we’ve taken notice of the rapid growth and popularity of the brand. Is there one person you would love to see wearing Astrum?
I’ve been blessed and fortunate for the celebrities and people that have been gravitating to the brand but truthfully, I'd love to see everyone in Astrum. To have that cult feeling and the identity of knowing this isn’t just for me, this is for you.
If you could choose a collaborator to work with rather it be a brand or designer who would it be?
Growing up it was a battle between Adidas and Nike. As a soccer player I needed my uniform to be 1 brand, unfortunately it was never like that. As I got older Nike made more sense to me from a branding standpoint and the evolving technologies implemented in the clothing. Astrum/Nike.
What’s the near future look like moving forward for Astrum?
Working towards building a globally respected brand with cohesive collections with a solid point of view. Astrum’s purpose is to implement its DNA.
Lastly when in Miami what’s your favorite after midnight spot to eat?
Wow um… i’d have to say Swan for a late night situation
John Elliott FW19 "Home" brings both Elliott, and the brand's new women's designer Cara Campagnoli, back to their northern California hometown. During the concept stages of this season, the pair discovered that they had actually grown up in the same city and that their grandparents were even friends. Serendipity aside, the collection draws upon the cold ocean water, crashing waves, and notorious fog of the northern California coastline to create a Hitchcock-like dark, mossy, color palette.
A mix of Japanese and American vintage fashion, Needles FW19 features a creative mix of upcycled patchwork pieces.

]]>"I started Random Acts of Kindness Everywhere when I was actually at my lowest point.
Cleveland native Ricky Smith was a struggling writer in Los Angeles with $20 in his pocket when he saw a sign that read "when you have nothing... give more." Although he dismissed it as trivial, the sign's impact inspired him to spend his last $20 on four Little Ceasar's pizzas and feed the homeless. In hopes of encouraging others to commit their own random acts of kindness Smith posted the video online. Unexpectedly, that same day, the video went viral and people across the nation were taking part and giving back to those in need. The next day Smith received a call to inform him he had been hired for the TV writing job he had been waiting to hear about. Galvanized by his experience, Smith started Random Acts of Kindness Everywhere (R.A.K.E.) to encourage others to join the cause and "pay it forward" to those less fortunate.
Recognized nationally, February 17th was recently announced in Cleveland as Random Acts of Kindness Day with Mayor Frank Jackson honoring Smith and R.A.K.E. for their contributions locally.
To celebrate and take part in this year's National Random Acts of Kindness Day, Xhibition teamed up with R.A.K.E. to give away three $200 gift cards to Cleveland residents who could creatively come up with the best random act of kindness.
It was a great honor on behalf of everyone at Xhibition to work with R.A.K.E. and see so many participants help the community with unique random acts of kindness.
Congratulations to our three winners and thank you to everyone who participated.
